Hi, I’m Ruby — a lifelong horse lover turned holistic equine practitioner. Horses have been part of my life for the last 17 years. In 2016 I welcomed my first horse into my life, and by 2019 I found myself seeking a more holistic approach to caring for horses and supporting their wellbeing. This path led me to the Animal Naturopathic Medicine Educatum (formerly the National College of Traditional Medicine) where I deepened my knowledge and became a qualified and insured Equine Myofunctional Therapist in 2024.

Along the way, I discovered positive reinforcement and clicker training after purchasing an unhandled horse with a history of trauma. This approach to horse training and care changed our entire relationship — giving him choice, and providing us with a way to communicate. From that moment I haven’t looked back, and I’m now passionate about sharing the power of positive reinforcement with others who want an alternative way to strengthen their bond with their horses.

Our Approach

At Holistic Horse Wellbeing, we are committed to supporting the whole horse — not just addressing symptoms. We use ethical, holistic therapies that are carefully tailored to meet each horse’s unique needs, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their care.

We hold deep respect for the horse as an individual, and our approach is always horse led.

Our goal is to restore balance, alleviate discomfort, and foster a trusting, communicative relationship. Through individualised therapies and coaching, we aim to build a harmonious partnership where both horse and human thrive together.

Our holistic offerings, including positive reinforcement coaching and equine myofunctional therapy, are designed to build a deep, lasting connection with your horse. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethical and sustainable care, ensuring that every horse receives the best treatment possible.

Currently, I am expanding my studies at the Animal Naturopathic Medicine Educatum, where I am working towards a qualification in equine biological nutrition, with plans to study herbal medicine and pasture management in the future. My goal is to become a fully qualified Equine Naturopath, equipped to help horses thrive in every aspect of their health and life.

TESTIMONIALS

SUSAN, MOLLY & POLLY

Ruby is helping me with my two rescue thoroughbreds. We’re covering foundation behaviours and cooperative care. At the moment Ruby is helping me with training both horses to accept hoof care. She has chunked down all the steps for me and helps problem solve brilliantly. Each of my horses needs different approaches, one is shut down after racing and being a broodmare and the other has had zero training in her 16 year life in a paddock. Ruby figures out alternative approaches for each horse and refines them until they work. They are both progressing so well thanks to Ruby.

It’s a pleasure to be with Ruby and her knowledge and enthusiasm shine through in everything she does with horses.

I can’t recommend her highly enough.

JULIA & MONTY

We had Ruby out to see our mare Montana, who can be quite sensitive and was very tight through her poll. Ruby’s calm and relaxed approach instantly put Monty at ease. It was wonderful to see how gently and respectfully she worked, always letting Monty guide the session. By the end, Montana was softer, more comfortable, and clearly more relaxed. Ruby’s knowledge and natural way with horses really shines through—we’re so grateful for her support and highly recommend Holistic Horse Wellbeing!

GEORGIA & TORRIN

Ruby did a fantastic job on my Friesian gelding, straight away understanding his build and what muscles he compensates on vs what areas he needs to strengthen.

Certainly noticed a more relaxed swing in his paces under saddle after seeing her.

Torrin throughly enjoyed the treatment, especially the lower neck massage! And she was patience with him when he became impatient at standing.

SONJA & THUMPER

Ruby is an amazing lady who genuinely understands the needs of the horses and her gentle but firm hands know just how to massage the tension out of the horse. You will not be disappointed.
